FAQs

FAQ

  • Do I need an appointment?
    • Yes, an appointment is required to see the Chiropodist. By scheduling an appointment this will allow ample time to provide appropriate care to the patient. Please call or visit Appleby Foot Care & Orthotics to make an appointment.
  • Do I need a referral from my doctor?
    • No, a referral is not necessary in order to be seen by the Chiropodist.
  • Will OHIP or my private health insurance cover your services?
    • No, OHIP does not cover any Chiropody fees. However, many of the chiropodial services offered, are partially or fully covered by most extended health insurance plans. Every insurance plan is different, therefore we recommend you contact your insurance company to obtain information regarding your specific coverage.
  • Is the Chiropodist able to treat me at my house?
    • Yes, home visits are available to those who are physically unable to come to the clinic. The price of the visits vary depending on where you live.
  • Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?
    • Yes, the clinic is wheelchair accessible with elevator access to the 2nd floor.
  • What should I expect during the break-in of my new Orthotics?
    • It is common to initially experience some mild discomfort or fatigue in your lower limb, as there is a period of physical adjustment. We recommend to start wearing your orthotics for one hour on the first day of wear and increasing this by two hours each day. Once the break-in period is over, orthotics should be worn at all times to achieve optimal results. We will provide a four week follow-up appointment, however if additional visits are required for adjustment, there will be no charge for the first three months. All orthotics are custom made at the lab according to your individual foot moulds, therefore we do not permit refunds once ordered.

Appleby Foot Care & Orthotics prides itself on its commitment to complete customer satisfaction and we invite you to bring to our attention any problems you may have with your orthotics in order that we may make the required adjustment promptly.
  • Where are you located?
